Mr. Rogers was born on July 11, 2003, in Lufkin, and died on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, in Lufkin. On July 11, 2003, a beautiful little bright-eyed baby boy entered this cruel world to the parentage of Christopher and Nekiedra Hart. His parents named this little bundle of joy, Christopher Rashaud Rogers. He was the third of three children born to his mother and is the youngest of seven children of his father's. He was a good baby, never cried a lot, and became spoiled very quickly. As he grew from an infant into his toddler years, his personality began to show more, which soon garnered nicknames such as Bubba, Rambo, and Shaud. But none of those names rang bells more than the nickname Lil"Chris," as he was the spitting image of his father, "Big Chris, in likeness, attitude, and temperament while taking on a loving-kindness spirit from his mother, with lots Of confidence and was very protective of his loved ones and friends. Being the only son, his mother birthed, as well as the baby, the connection and bond between mother and son was indescribable but definitely understood by all that knew them. Lil' Chris attended Lufkin Public Schools and was a Senior in the graduating class of 2021. He touched the lives of such an unnumberable amount of people through his music and simply because of who he was. The love and support from his peers have been so overwhelming, showing us, his family, the true impact of how his life and music touched "Lufkin," and the surrounding areas. Footprints in the sand. Although many viewed "Lil Chris," as hardcore and thought he ran the streets day and night, the truth is he was really a homebody. He spent the majority of his time at home strictly with his friends and loved ones. His second most loved spot was making music in the studio recording the songs that WILL SOON BE PLAYED ON AIRWAYS ACROSS THE WORLD. When he wasn't chilling, or hanging out, you could find him somewhere in a quiet space, writing poetry for his raps, 'joined at the hip' with his best friend, whom they called each other 'Twin", Damon Hurts, or out in different spots around town making videos to be recorded and produced. Check out Videos on YouTube. His lifelong dream and a goal he set out for himself was to go as far as his gifts and talents would take him, make it big in the Music Industry so that he could take care of his mother. He would have done just that had his life not been cut short due to hate and jealousy. Justice. On April 28th, in the year of our Lord 2021, our beloved Christopher Rashaud Rogers, "Lil Chris," lost his life to a senseless act of violence, murdered by the hands of a group of cowards, who hid in the dark and ambushed him while he was alone, and his back turned. Words cannot express the heart-wrenching pain we feel as our hearts bleed for our son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. His death has left a hole in the hearts of his family and friends.
