Funeral services for Dorsie Parks,70, of Lufkin is scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, September 26, 2020, in the Greater Shiloh Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Davis Memorial Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. till 6 p.m., Friday, September 25, 2020, in the Colonial Mortuary Chapel. Mrs.Parks was born on September 18, 1949, in Lufkin and died on September 12, 2020, in Lufkin Texas. Mrs. Dorsie E. Parks was born on September 18, 1949, in Lufkin, Texas, to the parentage of the late George Earl Gipson and Estelle Freeman. She attended the Lufkin Independent School District and was a graduate of Dunbar High School with the Class of 1969. Mrs. Parks was a faithful member of the Power and Praise Church. Her livelihood included her marriage of seven years to Mr. Cleo Parks, whom she affectionately called (Mister). She was a wonderful loving person whom everyone loved. She met no strangers and loved her family. She also loved spending quality time with her only daughter Arvina, her sons, and grandchildren. Her specialty in her kitchen was baking especially cakes. She will be greatly missed by her entire family as well as her dear friends. On September 13, 2020, Mrs. Dorsie E. Parks made her transition from this Earthly Home to her Eternal Home.
