The funeral service for Earlene Horace,75, of Lufkin will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2020, at 11 a.m., in the Center Hill CCIC in Bera Community Church. Burial will follow in the New Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Crockett. Mr. Horace was born on February 22, 1945, in Pennington died on Friday, November 20, 2020, in Lufkin. Mr. Earlene "Earl" Horace, was born to the parentage of the late James Horace and Caroline Sweat-Horace in Pennington, Texas. Mr. Horace had been a member of the Pentecostal Temple Church of God In Christ. He later joined the Gospel Lighthouse Church of God In Christ. Mr. Horace was a guitar player and had played for the United Gospel Singers for sixteen (16)years. He also played guitar for his Church for many years. His livelihood consisted of his employment with the Candy Kitchen for twenty (28) years, Texas Foundry for four (4 ) years and Memorial Hospital for four (4) years. He had been joined in Holy Matrimony to his loving wife, Shirley Mae Horace for fifty (50) years. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. On November 20, 2020, Mr. Earlene Horace departed this life in Lufkin, Texas. He is preceded in death by brothers, John Horace, James Horace, and Johnny Horace; A sister, Inez Horace and his parents James and Caroline Horace. Survivors: His beloved wife, Shirley M. Horace; A son, Regional D. Horace; Two sisters, Joyce Kimble (Wilbert) of Lufkin, Texas, Gloretha Elam (Lonnie D.) of Crockett, Texas; Two brothers, Loyce Horace (Lucy) of Crockett, Texas and Brent Horace (Ruthie) of Houston, Texas; Sisters-in-law, Dorothy L. Duncan, Alberten Taylor of Houston, Texas, Jamie L. Wiley of Crockett, Texas, Mary Ann Horace of Pennington, Texas and Emma Horace of Groveton, Texas, Lauda Taylor of Crockett and Mary Taylor of Tyler, Texas; Brothers-in-law, J.C. Handy of Crockett, Jessie J. Taylor of Arandalean Arizona; Special nephews, Curtis Horace and Michael Horace; Special niece, Dorothy M. Moreland; Special friend, Minister Dwight Bailey; Extended Family, Katie Bennett Family and Carolyn Bennett Family; A wealth of other nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.
