Alice Marie Mitchell's Obituary
The Funeral services for Alice Mitchell, 81, will be held Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Shiloh Baptist Church, 100 Pine St. Diboll, TX. The burial will follow in the Nigton Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday 10:00 a.m. till time of service at Shiloh Baptist Church.
Alice Marie Mark Mitchell, was born on February 1 7, 1943 to Luters and Climmie Mark in Deridder, Louisiana. She was the sixth child of eight siblings and raised in Nigton, Texas.
She attended H.G. Temple and graduated in 1961. Later she attended Tyler College where she pursued her Nursing
Thereafter, she located to Los Angeles, California, where she received a certificate for Nursing Assistant. Later attended Angelina Community College and received her credential as a CNA/Medication Aide. She met the love of her life Frank Mitchell, Jr. and they were untied in marriage in Los Angeles, California on September 1 6, 1970. They had four children, one daughter and three sons. Following the birth of her last child, they relocated to Diboll, Texas, where they spent most of their life raising their children. In 1995, they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where Alice worked as a Medication Aide at Sunrise Senior Home.
After the passing of her mother, Climmie Mark in 2004, she relocated back to Texas to care for her father Luters Mark. Three years later her beloved husband Frank Mitchell, Jr. passed on Marchl 7, 2007. Alice continued to work as a CNA/CMA at Parkwood in Lufkin, Texas until she retired in 2014. Later in the year 2014, she moved to Houston, Texas to help care for her great-granddaughter Ava Tate. After spending time fellowshiping at the Mark Family Reunion, she passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 7, 2024 in Houston, Texas.

The pride of Alice's life was her four children, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Alice was soft spoken but when it came to the grands and great-grands, she would spend hours talking to them or about them and how proud she was of all of them.
Alice leaves to cherish her memory: Brother, Eddie Mark (Deridder, Louisiana); Sister-in-law, Lois Mark (Nigton, Texas); Brother-in-law, Nathaniel Mitchell; Children, Sylvia Bellamy (Las Vegas, N.V.). Frank Mitchell Ill (Orange County, California), Anthony Mitchell (Rosharon, Texas), and Marcus Mitchell, (wife, Patrina), Diboll, Texas; Grandchildren, Antoinette Tate, (husband, Brad), Daeja Tene-Mitchell, James A. Bellamy Ill. Nia Mitchell, and Mia Mitchell; Greatgrandchildren, Chancey Grimmett, Acari Grimmett, Alyanna Bellamy, Ava Tate, and Jasmine Bellamy.
