Amos Ray Alexander's Obituary
The funeral service for Amos Ray Alexander, 63, will be held Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Mortuary Chapel. The burial will follow in the Davis Memorial Garden.
.Amos Ray Alexander, born on July 19, 1961, in Lufkin, Texas, was sent to his eternal home on January 24, 2025. He was the beloved son of the proud parents of the late Mrs. Rosie Lee Polk (Elijah Polk) and Mr. Joe D. Alexander, Sr. in Lufkin, Texas.
Amos always had a joyful spirit and brought laughter and smiles to everyone around him. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, golfer, and basketball player. After graduating from Diboll High School, Amos attended Blinn College on a basketball scholarship. He was a hard worker and worked several years at Parker-Fitting Hoses Hydraulic. Amos had unwavering faith in God and attended the Church of the Living God.
Amos married his high school sweetheart, Sandra (Teal) Alexander, whom he had known for over 45 years.
Amos leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Sandra (Teal) Alexander; stepson, Kusheon Davis; daughter, Jessica Mark; grandsons, Raine Davis, Braden Carter, and Kaden Hooper; brothers, Tommy (D'Andrea) Alexander, Billy (Marie) Alexander, and Donald (Angela) Alexander; sisters, Vannette (Alfred) Malone, Velma Alexander, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Amos was preceded in death by his parents, Joe D. Alexander, Sr., Rosie Lee Polk, and Elijah Polk; stepson, Jonathan Carter; granddaughter, Jaci Carter; brother Joe Alexander, Jr.; and sisters, Lavon White, Nettie Mae Alexander, Annette Colter, Patricia Alexander, and his sister, Maxine Johnson, was called home by God just three days after Amos.
