Barbara Ann Ayres' Obituary
Services for Barbara Ann Ayres, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Grace Tabernacle Church. Burial will follow in the Davis Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Friday from 9:00 p.m. till 10:00 p.m. at Colonial Mortuary .
Barbara Ann (Grady) Ayres, affectionately called (Ann) departed this life and was granted her wings on March 20, 2018. Her final days were spent surrounded by her family and friends family and friends that touched her life in some way. Barbara was born on July 10, 1941 in Lufkin, Texas, to the parentage of the late of Tommy and Georgia Grady.
EDUCATION/EMPLOYMENT
Barbara attended the Lufkin Independent School District and was a graduate of Dunbar High School with the Class of 1959. She had been employed as a cook in various restaurants. She also had been employed by J. C. Penny Department Store from which she retired.
MARRIAGE/LIVELIHOOD
Barbara married her High School Sweetheart the marriage lasting for fifty six years. To this union three lovely children were born.
She was an avid cook and loved to socialize with family and friends, weekend excursions, singing and lots of laughter. Barbara met no strangers and she will be remembered by her beautiful smile. She loved all of her family and was especially happy to have reunited with extended family members: (The Grady' s) from Dallas, Texas in recent years. She also sang with Silvertone Singers, and the Lufkin Interdenominational Choir.
RELIGIOUS AFFILIATION
She accepted Christ at an early age. Her church affiliations included Long Chapel CME Church , Lufkin, Texas, Church of The Living God PGT, (Pillar Ground and Truth) uniting under the pastorage of Pastor Jonathan Tima. Barbara and her family later united with The Church of The Living God, CWFF, under the pastorage of Pastor Billy Ray Keller. At her demise, she was united with the Church of The Living God, CWFF, (Christian Worker's for Fellowship) Lufkin, Texas. She also served as President of the Mission Department at Church of The Living God. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
