Graveside services for Carolyn Henry,71, of Lufkin will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, December 5, 2020, in the Sweet Union Cemetery. Mrs. Henry was born October 14, 1949, Lufkin in died on Sunday, November 29, 2020, in Lufkin.
Carolyn Ruth Hughes-Henry, was born on October 14, 1949 in Lufkin, Texas, to the parentage of the late Reverend Newt Hughes and Leona Forney-Hughes.
She received her formal education from the Wells Independent School District in Wells, Texas. Carolyn was of Baptist faith and was a member of the Sweet Union Baptist Church in Sweet Union, Texas. She attended Church until her health no longer permitted her to do so. She had been employed as a Home Health Care Giver and an Avon Sales Agent. Her livelihood consisted of her love for music, she was an avid cook, and she loved to spend quality time with her family and friends.
On November 29, 2020 Carolyn Ruth Hughes-Henry departed this earthly life in Lufkin, Texas.
Survivors: Daughter, Doris Henry; Grandchildren, Brittany Henry, Whitney Henry; Seven great-grandchildren, Tara, Amari, O'Yran, J'si, Jordon, Aubree and Bryon; Sisters, Annie Lois Lee, Sharon Hall, Shelia Hughes; Brothers, Larry Hughes, Carl Ray Hughes, Roosevelt Hughes and Bernard Hughes; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other dear friends.
She is preceded in death by: Parents, Rev. Newt and Leona
Hughes; Sisters, Lou Evelyn Haywood, Denise Hodge; Brother, Eugene Hughes; Nephew, Milton (Pookie) Joyce; The late John Harvey Henry.
