Service for Mrs. Carrie Dixon, 71, of Lufkin is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 22, 2022, at the Green Pine Baptist Church, located 515 E. 5th St., Kountze, Tx. Burial will follow in the Trinity Valley Cemetery. Mrs. Dixon was born on January 26, 1951, in Silsbee, and died on Sunday, October 16, 2022, in Austin.
Carrie Brown Dixon was born January 26, 1951, to William and Narvella Brown in Silsbee, Texas. She departed this life on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at St David's Medical Center in Austin, Texas.
Carrie accepted Christ at an early age and attended St. Vincent Methodist Church in Silsbee, Texas. After moving to Lufkin, she united with Abundant Life Methodist Church where she served on the Usher Board.
She attended school in Silsbee, Texas and graduated from Silsbee High School in 1969. She united in marriage with Alton Dixon in 1970 and to this union one daughter was born.
Carrie worked for 41 years at Lufkin Memorial Hospital and filled many roles such as a call center dietary operator and retired as a dietary supervisor.
Carrie enjoyed traveling, antique shopping and refurbishing furniture. She was an avid reader. She was a history buff and loved all things history related.
Carrie was preceded in death by her parents William and Narvella Brown, and one brother Lorenzo Brown. She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter Stephonie Cade (Marcus) of Austin, Texas, two sons Ryan Le'Trae Dixon and Travis Ahmad Dixon both of Houston, Texas. One sister Delores West (Willie) of Kountze, Texas. Eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A very special best friend Georgia Johnson and a lifelong friend Washie Anderson.
