Services for Charlie Wright, 49,of Lufkin will be held Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Goodwill Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Davis Memorial Gardens. Mr. Wright was born October 17, 1971 in Woodville, TX. and died August 21, 2021 in Lufkin.
Mr. Charlie Wright Sr., was born on October 17th, 1971 in Tyler County to Pastor Lois Credit and Travis Wright Sr.
Charlie was reared in Lufkin, Texas and graduated from Lufkin High School in
- In 1990 Charlie was introduced to Angela Jackson at an SFA party and they soon began dating while in High School. On November 20, 1994, the couple were
married and blessed with three beautiful children. He later received an Associate Degree in substance Abuse Counseling from Angelina College which he utilized to counsel patients at Peavy Switch Recovery Center. The family lived in Lufkin, Texas before moving to Nacogdoches, Texas in 2003, where Charlie attended Stephen F. Austin State University to pursue a bachelor's degree. The family resided in Nacogdoches, until 2016, when they relocated back to Lufkin, Texas.
Charlie shared a love of cooking with his mother and grandmother. His cooking of sweets gained him the nick name "Teacake C." along with being a phenomenal cook, Charlie was also an avid fisherman and had a great love for his pets and the Cowboys. He spent much of his time enjoying the company of his family and watching sports with his son, brothers, brothers-in-law, and nephews. Charlie found joy in his four granddaughters and love spoiling and spending time with them. Charlie was a comical and enjoyable person to be around.
Charlie is preceded in death by grandparents, Charlie (Odessa) Wright Sr.; and Steve (Pearl) Mitchell; mother, Lois Credit; father, Travis Wright; daughter, Chloé Wright; and nephews, Dexter Wright Jr. and Marquez Thomas.
Charlie leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 30 years, Angela Wright; Daughter, Morgan Wright; son, Charlie (LaDeshia) Wright Jr.; and daughter, Ashlé Wright; granddaughters, Mckinleigh Wright; McKenna Wright; Emerie Wright; and Emma Handy; Stepfather, Henry (Marion) Credit Sr.; Siblings, Odessa Wright; Travis Wright Jr.; De' Borah Wright; Dexter (Treena) Wright Sr.;
Pamela (Floyd) Ferguson; Christie Credit; Henry (Catalina) Credit Jr.; Freda Credit; Father and mother-in-law, Ellis (Ernestine) Jackson Sr.; Brothers and sister-inlaw, Ellis Jackson Jr.; Christopher (Dana) Jackson; and Tiffany (Leonard) Davison; A host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
