Christa Bell Ingram's Obituary
Funeral services for Christa Bell Simond-lngram are scheduled for Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Colonial Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow in the Davis Memorial Gardens. Officiating will the Pastor of Long Chapel CME Church and the Eulogist will be Valencia Edner.
Visitation will be on Wednesday in the Colonial Mortuary Chapel from 6 to 8:00 p.m.
Mrs. Christa Bell (Simond) Ingram was born in Nacogdoches, Texas, the youngest of five children born to Amanda (Thomas) and Percy A. Simond Sr. on April 22, 1921.
She accepted Christ at an early age. Christa united with the Long Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church where she was a member for over fifty years. She was an active member until her health fail. She still continued to financially support the Church. Mrs. Ingram was a graduate of Dunbar High School in Lufkin, Texas later attended Wiley College where she received a Bachelor Degree in History. She later received her Master's Degree in Education from Texas College. Her career in education spanned over forty years.
She began her teaching career in Garrison, Texas later teaching in New Willard, Texas. Her Teaching Career in Lufkin, Texas included: serving as a first grade teacher at Garrett Primary and third and fourth grade teacher at Coston Elementary. Organizational Affiliations include: Dunbar High School Alumni, Ex-Student Association and the Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc., Lufkin Chapter. She had been united in Holy Matrimony to the late Q.W. Ingram, the marriage lasting for thirty five years.
On July 6, 2018, Mrs. Christa Bell Simond-lngram departed this life in Lufkin, Texas.
Christa is preceded in death by: Her husband Q.W. Ingram; Her parents, Percy Simond Sr. and Amanda Simond; Her Brothers, James, John and Percy A. Simond, Jr; A sister, Lillie B. Davis; A niece, Sharon Simond; Nephews, James Darrell Bowie and Thomas Simond.
Mrs. Ingram leaves to cherish her precious memories: A son, Kirk Ingram Sr. whom she beloved and adored; Special daughter, Lillian Johnson; Four grandchildren, Kery (Ivy) Ingram. Kendyl (Susan) Davis, Jasmine (Mark) Simpson and Kirk Ingram Jr. • Three great-grandchildren, Gabriell Simpson, Ian and Ethen Ingram; Sister-in-law, Quanita Simond; Special friends, Karen Martinec and Ruben Doyle.
