Clarence E. Mangus' Obituary
Memorial for Clarence Edward Mangus, 89, of Lufkin will be held Monday January 19, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Fourth and Groesbeck Church of Christ 401 E. Grosebeck Ave., Lufkin, TX. with
brother Jim Vaughan officiating. Immediately following the services a Silk Flower and Slik Roses Planting Memorial Devotional will be held at the Mangus Family home, 716 Garrison Dr., Lufkin, Tx. Clarence was born October 18, 1925 in Broken Bow, Ok. to the late Eva Johnson and Nathaniel M. Mangus and passed away January 8, 2015 at his residence.
Clarence attended the Fourth and Grosebeck Church of Christ in Lufkin, TX. He loved attending church and taking care of his wife and family and worked hard to provide for his family. He was a skilled tradesman in T.V. repair, wielding, carpentry and mechanics. He worked most of his adult life for and retired from Lufkin Industries. Early in his life he was asked to serve his country in World War II having just turn 18. He served in active duty from January 8, 1944 to May 5, 1946 with honor as a member of the rifle squad with Company 4, 66th Infantry. During his active duty he walked through France and Germany under General Wyman as part of General Patton's Army. Shortly after coming home he married his school sweetheart Mary Anna Deither on May 24, 1947 and was with her for 67 loving years until her recent passing on December 22, 2014.
Clarence leaves to cherish his memory his four sons: Andy Mangus of Port Neches, TX., Tony Mangus and Gary Mangus of Lufkin, Tx. and Roger Mangus of Dallas, TX. ; one brother, Carl Mangus of Lacombe, La.: ten grandchildren: Landon Mangus, Alana Harrison, Lindsey Mangus, Lorrie Spriering, Chris Mangus, Micheal Mangus, John Mangus, Ashley Mangus, Jason Dolimeyer and David Dolimeyer: numerous great grandchildren, friends and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother: R.N. Mangus and Jerry Mangus.
