The funeral service for Clarice Sumlin,83, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, October 24, 2020, at 11 a.m., in the Greater Shiloh Baptist Church. Visitation will be Friday from 7 p.m., till 9 p.m., in the Colonial Mortuary Chapel. I Read Obituary
I first met Soror Sumlin while I was in high school when she would come to Lufkin Dunbar to teach. She was such a classy, beautiful, mahogany lady. Her hair was always coiffured and her clothes were neat and stylish. She set a standard for all of the young women who had the opportunity to be in her presence. I had no idea that later in life she would be my sorority sister! She will be missed!
