Cottrell James Allen's Obituary
Memorial services for Cottrell James "CJ" Allen, 81, will be held Saturday, September 3, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in the Colonial Mortuary Chapel. Mr. Allen passed away on August 25, 2022, in Dallas, TX.
Mr. Cottrell James "CJ" Allen, son of the late Henry and Annie Mae Allen, was born July 14, 1941, in Nacogdoches, Texas.
CJ Allen attended Dunbar High School where he was a proud member of the football team and an active supporter of alumni activities. He was a gentleman who loved the good conversation with friends, enjoyed being dressed to impress, and was always available to lend a helping hand to all in need. CJ spent his adult life as a Facilities Manager in Dallas, Texas, and upon retirement moved back to his hometown of Lufkin, Texas to help care for his mother. CJ was a devoted attendee of First Missionary Baptist Church where he was able to develop and nourish his relationship with the Lord.
His life's journey will forever be cherished in the lives of those impacted by his earthly journey.
