Funeral service for Darodrick Davis, 40 of Lufkin will be held at 2:00 PM,Saturday, September 20, 2025, at JD's Hope Center- GYM, 1204 Cain St, Lufkin.Burial will follow in the Davis Memorial Garden Mr. Davis was born on May 10, 1985, in Lufkin died on Saturday, September 13, 2025 in Lufkin.
Darodrick Metriel Davis, the first child born to Rodney and Sonya Davis in Lufkin, Texas, on May10, 1985.
Darodrick was a graduate of Lufkin High School with the Class of 1985. He was a member of the Lufkin Panther High School Football and Basketball Teams. After graduating from High School, he attended Texas College and Sam Houston State University.
Darodrick was a faithful member of the New Zion Temple of Deliverance, under the leadership of Bishop Clifford. T. Olford. During this time he was a part of the Security Team. His livelihood consisted of his employment at the Lufkin Independent School District for fifteen years at Lufkin High School. He also loved to spend quality time with his family, especially his children Darodrick, Jr., Briley, and his wife, Whittney. He also was very close to his
Aunt Donya his deceased mother's (Sonya Davis) twin sister. It was a very special time to him to watch the NFL football games with his father, and he was an avid fan of the Denver Bronchos.
Darodrick Metriel Davis was a kind and respectful individual, who was admired by all who knew him.
On September 13, 2025, Darodrick made his heavenly transition from this earthly life. He will be truly missed by his family and dear friends.
Left to cherish his memories; His wife, Whittney Holman; His children, Darodrick, Jr. and Briley Davis; His father, Rodney Davis, and his sister, Briana Davis; His grandmother, Willie Marie Davis-Meals; A wealth of aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other dear friends.
