Services for Delphine Brooks, 88, of Lufkin is scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, February 26, 2022, in the Colonial Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow in Davis Memorial Garden. Mrs. Brooks was on April 17, 1933, in Camp Ruby, and died Friday, February 18, 2022, in Lufkin
. Mrs. Delphine Brooks was born April 17, 1933, in Camp Ruby near Livingston Texas, to the late John and Tensie (Martin) Brown.
She accepted Christ at an early age and believed and trusted in the Lord all the days of her life. She attended the Chester School system and loved playing softball, and basketball.
She married Clifford Brooks Sr. and to that union, seven children were born. She lived in
California for many years before she settled in Lufkin TX. Mrs. Brooks worked in the hospitality business for most of her life. She was a cook at the Lufkin Country Club, she also worked at Lufkin Nursing Home as a private sitter, and she was an in-home childcare provider. When she wasn't working, she was an amazing housewife, mother, and advisor to all that knew her.
Affectionately, known as Mu she loved to cook and if you had ever tasted or smelled her food you knew it was made with love. She also enjoyed reading, word searches, crossword puzzles, watching sports, game shows, westerns, shopping, and anything Estee Lauder.
On February 18, 2022, Mrs. Delphine Brooks departed this life for a place where there is no more pain or suffering.

Brown, Siblings: Annie Mae Brown, Arvella Howard, Katie Lee Lewis, Baby Rosetta James,
Odessa Hadnot and a brother Clarence Brown. Daughters: Brenda Gail Brooks and Ellen Joyce Brooks, Granddaughter: Ethel Rochelle Daye, Grandson: Walter Williams, and Great-grandson: Cortez Moore
Left to cherish her memories are her children Clifford Brooks Jr. of Houston Texas, Ralph
Brooks (Dorothy) of Lufkin Texas, Rudolph Brooks of Oakland California, Bobby Brooks of
Lufkin Texas, Kathy Brooks of Lufkin Texas, and Regina Hamilton of Lufkin Texas. Sister Angelita Robertson of Stockton California. A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces, and nephews. Daughters-in-law, Susan Brooks -McCloud and Linda Brooks. Her granddaughter Twanisha Bennett and Goddaughter, Regina Hamilton were as daughters to her and were there for her every need.
