Service for Detroit Benton, 22 of Lufkin is schedule for 11 a.m., Saturday, January 28, 2023, in the Colonial Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow in the Davis Memorial Gardens.
.Detroit Tariq' Benton, was born on February 25, 2000 in Lufkin, Texas, to the parentage of Delfrick Benton and Sherri Murphy.
He was the youngest of three sons. Detroit graduated from Boys Town High School with the Class of 2018 in Omaha, Nebraska, where he had many friends which would develop into a lifetime brotherhood. He loved to spend time with his loved ones, and was always full of laughter and joy. He had been formerly employed by DHL for several years, the joy and love that he gave during his lifetime will be greatly missed and loved always.
On January 14th, 2023, Detroit Tariq' Benton departed this life into eternity.

Detroit is preceded in death by: his grandparents, Janice Johnson and Jettie Murphy, George Benton and a cousin De Morea Benton-Davis.
