Service for Mr. Donald Jones, 74 of Lufkin will be held at 11 a.m., July 12, 2023, in the Colonial Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow in the Davis Memorial Garden. Mr. Jones was born on February 1, 1949, in Houston, and died on Friday, June 30, 2023, in Lufkin.
Donald Ray Jones, was born on February 1, 1949 in Lufkin, Texas, to the late Joe J. Jones and Mable Lee Renfro Jones, both preceding him in death. He was the 4th child of 7 born to their union.
Donald attended Houston Public Schools until relocating to Lufkin, Texas where he attended the Lufkin Independent School District. He enjoyed his career being employed by the Coca Cola Industries. He also was a member ofthe Long Chapel CME Church under the leadership of Dr. Lynn Hargrow. He has been a devoted son, brother, uncle, great-uncle and friend. Donald will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
On June 29, 2023, before the stroke of Midnight, a peaceful life ended for Mr. Donald Ray Jones at his residence in Lufkin, Texas.
Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Joe J. Jones and Mable Refro Jones; A sister, Barbara Jones and a brother Winford Jones.
Survivors: Sisters, Betty Jones-Caldwell, Rose Jones Tieuel and Brenda Jones of Lufkin, Texas; a brother, John Jones of Lufkin, Texas; Nieces, Dundra Tieuel Hollins (Chad) of Magnolia, Texas, Kimberly Tieuel of Lufkin, Texas, Bridgette Coleman, and Barbara Coleman of Houston, Texas; Nephews. Willie B. Tieuel Il and Michael Caldwell of Lufkin, Texas; Great-nieces, Ravyn Hollins of Boston, Massachusetts, Milah Williams of Lufkin, Texas' Great-nephews, Calen Hollins of Woodlands, Texas and Jared Hopes ofHouston, Texas. Other extended family and long time friends.
