Donald Ray Reagan's Obituary
Services for Donald Reagan, 69,of Pollok will be held Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the New Center Prospect Baptist Church in Pollok, TX. Burial will follow in the New Center Prospect Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. at Colonial Mortuary.
Donald Ray Reagan was born on October 5, 1948 , the second child of six children born to the union of the late Herman Wiley Reagan and Bernice Erwin Reagan in Lufkin, Texas.
He attended Dunbar High School in his early years later attending Central High School, from which he was an graduate. Donald excelled in track and field and received several ribbons in Agriculture and Livestock FHA. He received his upbringing in the Church at an early age. Like so many ofus he strayed away after becoming a young adult, Donald made a conscious decision to reunite with the New Center Baptist Church where served faithfully as deacon, and choir member serving in any capacity needed. He served faithfully until his health failed. Even then he attended Bible Study on Wednesday's and Worship Service on Sunday's. Donald loved to lead devotion and would pray and ask God to give him the correct scriptures to read. His favorite song he would sing was, "Jesus Keep Me Near the Cross."
Donald met and married Linda Forney. At an early age, he began working in the Family Logging Business. He later joined the United States Army at twenty two years of age. Donald was proud to serve his country. He attended Jump School in Atlanta Georgia, graduating and becoming a member of the Paratrooper Regiment. He was stationed in the Panama Canal Zone for over a year returning to the States, to finish his time in the National Guard. He earned a badge as a sharpshooter M16 Rifleman on September 2 1, 1974. He also was a Combat Engineer and was discharged Honorably on January 24, 1975. Donald later began working in the Family Logging Business until the demise ofhis father. He then began to work for other Logging Contractors and later going into business for himself for a short period of time. After deciding he needed a job with some benefits after working in the logging business most of his life, he went to work at William George in 1999. He loved the Lord and his testimony was: "God is So Good." During his illness he never complained and continued to keep his faith, worshiping God until his demise.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, H.W. and Bernice E. Reagan; Brother, Herman Reagan Jr.
Left to cherish his memories, his loyingwife of47 years, Linda Reagan; Daughters, Nicole Reagan of Chicago, Illinois, Felicia (Myrick) of Lufkin, Texas;, Jamar (Adrianne) of Pollok; Brothers, Robert Reagan of Pollok and Harold ReeganofPeoria, Illinois; Two sisters, Barbara Reagan of Wells, Texas and Vickie Campbell of Chicago, Illinois; six grandchildren, Taaylor, Samara, Taaryn, Jarmarcus, Kyanfia and Cam Reagan; Uncle, Tommy Erwin ofHouston; Special uncle, Alvin Erwin ofPollok; Aunt, Gladys (Don) Jones of Chicago, Illinois; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
