Earline Booker's Obituary
Services for Earline Booker, 90, of Lufkin will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at Colonial Mortuary. Visitation will be Saturday before service from 10 a.m., - 11 a.m., Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Our beloved "Aunt Earl" as many referred to Ms. Earline Booker was born on September 1, 1933, to the late Rev. Marion S. Booker and Annie Booker.
Growing up as a child Earline was blessed to have had the following siblings, Edna Watts-Hartsfield, Leona Porter, Audrey Johnson, Willie Booker and Curtis L. Booker. They each have transitioned to glory and God has called Earline home to be with them.
Earline attended school in Lufkin Texas. She attended Redland public schools and graduated from Dunbar High School in 1951. At an early age, Earline became a member of the Memorial Chapel Church in Lufkin, Texas. There she served as a Sunday school teacher, church secretary, and usher. Later in life, she joined Abundant Life United Methodist Church member, where she served on the usher board. Earline was proud to be a charter member of the Abundant Life United Methodist Church.
Earline worked in private homes & childcare. She also worked at Pilgrim's Pride, where she retired in 1997. Earline enjoyed life, spending time fishing with family & friends and playing with her dogs. Although she did not have children, she was a mother to many and was affectionately called Momma Earl, Aunt Earl, or Auntie as noted above.
Left to cherish her memories is her beloved sister-in-law, Mrs. Bobbie Jean Booker and numerous nieces and nephews. Nieces include Karen Ingram, Janet Fry, Lisa Booker, Cathy Kegler, Glenda Taylor
(Jeff), Betty McKenzie, Marilyn Daniels (Joe), Jackie Booker, and Cynthia Booker. Her nephews include Bobby Watts (Vivian), Perry Watts, Charles Watts (Mona), Keith Johnson (Tanya), Glenn Watts (Regina), Curtis Booker Jr., and Lewis Hartsfield.
Remembering her special cousins Lois Stubblefield, Mr. & Mrs. Larry and Shirley Jones, and Mr. and Mrs. Howard and Ester Price. She will be remembered by her dear friends Sarah Westley, Delois Patton, Dorothy Patton, and Pam Thomas.
