Eddie Roy Wade's Obituary
The funeral service for Eddie Roy Wade, 66, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 208 Calvary St., Lufkin, TX. The burial will follow in the Rocky Mount Cemetery in San Augustine, TX. The repass will be at 611 McMullen, Lufkin, TX.
Eddie Roy Wade was born on February 16, 1958, in San Augustine, Texas, to the late Josh and Polly Shipp Wade.
He received formal education from the San Augustine and Huntington, Texas Independent School Districts. After graduating from high school, accomplishments included his employment with Lufkin Foundries where he worked diligently for twenty-eight to thirty years. He was not known to sit around and do nothing. Eddie also had been employed at Angelina College for at least ten years. He always had the urge and willpower to try and do more until multiple illnesses and surgeries overcame him. Being diabetic and treated for dialysis became his downfall, one that he could not overcome. Eddie's livelihood also consisted of his love for music, and socializing with his family and friends.
On January 10, 2025, at age 66, Eddie Roy Wade made his transition from this earthly life in Lufkin, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his son, Terrence Wade; his parents, Polly and Josh Wade; and his brother, John Wade.
Survivors: Stepsons, Damien Cauley, Adrian Wyatt; Grandson, Traveon Wade;
Six other step-grandchildren; Brothers, Jack Wade, Jessie Wade (Karen), Dan Wade and (Sarah), Herbert Wade, Kenneth Wade (Margie), Richard Wade, Vernon Wade (Debra); Sisters, Patricia McCloud (Dewayne), Ella Wade; Sister-in-law, Belinda Wade.
