Memorial services for Edward James Wortham,63, will be held Saturday November 1, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Colonial Mortuary Chapel.
Edward James Wortham was born June 30, 1962 to J.C. Wortham and Annie Dell David in Lufkin, Texas. He was one of 8 children. Edward completed all his formal education in Lufkin and graduated from Lufkin High School in 1981. After the loss of their parents, Edward made sure that his siblings were always taken care of. Edward loved nice cars, fine clothes, camping, hanging with family and the "Fellas". He also always enjoyed a good home cooked meal.
Edward was a hard worker and often worked two jobs. This included various security jobs and in 1982, he moved to Oakland, California and became employed with the American Brass & Iron Foundry. He worked there for 25 years.
In April of 1996, Edward married Kelly Davis and became the stepfather to her two sons, Myko J'Don Davis and DeMarie' Monte Davis. The family then moved to Pittsburg, California and united with First Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Henry Perkins, Pastor.
In 2021, Edward transferred to Tyler Pipe in Tyler, Texas where he worked until his health failed him. Edward James Wortham departed this life on October 14, 2025.
Edward is preceded in death by his parents J.C. Wortham and Annie Dell David; sister Sharon

He leaves to cherish his memory, wife Kelly Wortham; stepsons Myko J'Don Davis and DeMarie' Monte Davis; sisters: LaWanda Wortham, Everleen Wortham; brothers: James Wortham (Diane), Larry Wortham, and Michael (Mack) Wortham. He leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, neighborhood kids, die hard classmates (the "Fellas") and other family and friends. A very special cousin and godmother, Joyce Timmons.
