Ernest Ray Jenkins' Obituary
Service for Ernest Ray Jenkins, 72, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m., July 18, 2020, in the Colonial Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be held Friday, July 17, 2020, from 5 p.m., till 7 p.m.
Ernest Ray Jenkins was born to the parentage of the late Gertrude and Luther Jenkins on March 3, 1948, in Lufkin, Texas.
He received his formal education from the Lufkin Independent School District and graduated with the Class of 1968 from Dunbar High School. Ernest had been married to Viola Jenkins for forty-nine and one-half years. Ernest had been employed at Lufkin Industries for thirty-five years. His livelihood consisted of watching football games, and his favorite NFL Team was the Forty-Niners.
On July 9, 2020, Ernest Ray Jenkins departed this life. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors: His children, Valarie Brown (Karl), Ernest Tyrone, "Pookie" Jenkins; Grandchildren, Tytorrious and Detorrious Jenkins, Darion Amie, Deloria Jenkins, Darrell Jenkins, Brandon Thomas, and Brittney Thomas; Four great-great-grandchildren; Sisters, Pat, and Thelma Jenkins, Jennette Bryant, and Dorothy Hamilton; A wealth of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends; Special friends: Wilbert Kimble, Oliver Harris, and Daily Ross.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Gertrude and Luther Jenkins, three Sisters, and Three Brothers.
