Services for Erwin "Buck" Brown, 77, of Houston will be held Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Colonial Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Mr. Brown was born January 10, 1940 in Sandhill, TX. and died October 12, 2017 in Houston, TX
Ervin, the son of the late Ernest Brown Sr. and Willie Mae (Colston) Brown was born on January 10, 1940 in Sand Hill, Texas. The Browns' moved to the big city of Lufkin where he attended school and earned a high school diploma from Dunbar High School in 1957. He was an amazing athlete in Basketball and Track and set many records during his years at Dunbar. He earned the nickname "Buck" due to his athletic ability in track.
Ervin fell in Love with Patsy Ann McGee during the time she was earning her Bachelor's Degree at Texas Southern University and later married her. In 1971, a beautiful baby girl was born named Chandra Latrice. Over the years, Ervin worked in various roles in the Oil & Field Services industry and eventually retired from FMC Corporation in 1999 as a Parts Inspector.
He was very laid back, compassionate and would talk to just about any person he encountered. He enjoyed playing dominoes, cards and loved watching all sports on television. He loved his wife, daughter, son in-law, and granddaughter dearly. Ervin was known as someone who WOUld always look out for the children on his street and within his neighborhood in Houston. Often giving kids a ride to school if they missed the bus or taking them wherever they needed to go to avoid getting in trouble with their parents. If there was suspicious activity occurring on his street and he knew about it, he addressed the culprits immediately. Ervin attended Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church.

Ervin leaves to cherish his memories a devoted Wife Patsy Ann; Daughter, Chandra; Son-in-law, Shawn; Granddaughter, Chloe; and Grandson, Ke'Shawn Ledet. Brother, Gene Brown (Wanda); Sister-in-law, Jessie Faye Brown; Brother-in-law, Jay Lee Tarver; Mother-in- law, Ola McGee; Brother-in-law, Jerry McGee (Dewan); Brother-in-law, James (Bubba) McGee (Marcia); and a host of loving nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
