Ervin Dean Harris Jr's Obituary
Services for Ervin D. Harris Jr, 68, of Lufkin will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 2:00 p.m., in the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 1619 Williams Street, Lufkin. Burial will follow in the Davis Memorial Garden. Visitation is Friday at 5:00 till 7:00 p.m. at Colonial Mortuary.
Ervin Dean Harris Jr., was born to the parentage of the late Ervin Harris Sr. and Shirley Mark Jones.
On May 15, 2025, Ervin was called Home, He was a brother, father, and friend to many people. He was the type of person that to know him was to love him, and to understand the person that he was. Ervin had been employed by East Bay known as Republic Service Sanitation in Florida; A Cleaners in Beaumont, Texas, and Lufkin Industries in Lufkin, Texas.
He was a very generous and helpful person. Ervin helped so many people. He would not let you return anything that he gave you, and did not expect anything in return. A lot of people did not know that side of Ervin, but his true friends did. If you had known him you would know that he was a very good hearted individual, and would give you his last expecting nothing in return. His livelihood consisted of the love he had for his rabbits, chickens, growing his own garden, collecting antiques, dancing, and most of all sitting on his porch waving and talking to everyone that came by.
Ervin Dean Harris, Jr. was preceded in death by: His parents, Ervin Harris and Shirley Mark Jones; A brother, Darryl Lynn Mark; Sister, Willie Rena Jones; A nephew, Quincy Coutee,and uncles, Jim Mark and Frankie Mark.
Left to Cherish His Memories: Son, Ervin Harris Ill; A wife in Beaumont, Texas; Brother, Alonzo Jones (Trisha) of Lufkin, Texas; Sisters, Debra Harris, Kathy Coutee and Valarie Jones; A wealth of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members.
