Estelle Freeman's Obituary
Services for Estelle Freeman, 87, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Greater Shiloh Baptist Church, 1519 Williams St., Lufkin, TX. Burial will follow in the Davis Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Friday from 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. at Colonial Mortuary.
Mrs. Freeman was born May 9, 1932 in Huntington, TX. and died August 9, 2019 in Lufkin.On May 9, 1932, Estelle Marie Freeman, was born to the parentage of Lonnie Hill and Annie Hood, in Huntington, Texas, the oldest of seven siblings.
Estelle attended Huntington Jr. High School in Huntington, Texas. She had been employed by several Nursing Facilities in Lufkin. Estelle was an active member of Warren Temple until her demise. She was one ofthe Mothers of the Church. She also served as a Usher at Shiloh Baptist Church in her early years. Estelle was called a "Mother," of the neighborhood.
On August 9, 2019 the Lord called her home, no more suffering. She is in the arms of the Lord, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie Hill and Annie Hood; Four children, Larry Freeman, Ethel Freeman, Annie Freeman and Jeffery Lamb.
Survivors: Two sisters, Lois Hood ofLufkin, Texas, and Billie (Charles) Lee of Pollock, Texas; Six children, Dorsie (Cleo) Parks, Homer (Patricia) Freeman, Norma (Timothy) Thomas of Lufkin, Texas, Archie (Henry) Turner of Houston, Texas, Byrise Freeman and Arlon Lamb of Lufkin, Texas; Twenty six grandchildren; Many great-grandchildren; A wealth of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
