Service for Mrs. Fannie James, 88, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, Jun 25, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., in the Impact Outreach Ministries, 440 FM 2021 in Lufkin. Burial will follow in the Davis Memorial Garden. Mrs. James was born on July 1, 1933, in Carmona, TX., and died on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, in Bryan, Tx.
Fannie Houston James, the fifth child born to the late Sam O. Houston and Jessie Duncan, was born on July 1, 1933, in Carmona Texas, Trinity County, the Groveton Seat.
She received her formal education at Bold Spring Public School in Piney, Texas. Mrs. James attended Church of God in Christ in the Moscow, Corrigan area. She loved to travel going to different states including Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida, and various cities in Texas. She also loved crocheting and baking pies. People knew her as the Pie Lady. Her family and friends will greatly miss her.
She is preceded in death by brothers: James Oscar Houston, J.D. Houston, Sherman Houston, Willie Houston; Son, Sampson Jones;
