Graveside service for Mrs. Faylene Williams, 86, of Lufkin, will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at the Campground Cemetery, Mt. Enterprise, Tx. Saturday morning viewing will be held at Colonial Mortuary from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m., Mrs. Williams was born on November 22, 1935, in Mt. Enterprise, and died on Thursday, December 30, 2021, in Lufkin
Faylene Williams 86, passed away quietly on December 29, 2021, at Chi St. Luke's Health Memorial Hospital in Lufkin, Texas.
She was born on November 22, 1935, in Mt. Enterprise, Texas. Her mother was Mary Ann Royal-Williams, and her father was Charlie Williams. There were also two brothers, the late Samuel "Baby Jack" Williams and Billy Ray Williams. Faylene attended and graduated from Mt. Enterprise High School in 1952 with honors. She attended Texas College right after graduation but did not earn a degree. At the age of 17, she married Willis Williams of Concord, Texas in 1953. From this union, four children were born: three sons, Kenneth, Karl and Keith Williams and one daughter, Kristi Williams-Caldwell. Faylene obeyed the Gospel and was baptized into Christ in 1975. She was a faithful member of the Fourth & Groesbeck Church of Christ. She was a great example of a Christian wife and mother. Faylene retired from the Lufkin Independent School District as a Secretary for Dunbar Intermediate and Lufkin Middle Schools.
She enjoyed many activities in her spare time, such as quilting, designing jewelry, and traveling. She also loved to cook. People often requested her pork chops, pecan pies, tea cakes, and German Chocolate Cakes. Her most cherished activity was spending quality time with her family, extended family, and friends. She was known for her outgoing personality, bright smile, sense of humor, and sound advice.
She leaves behind her husband of 68 years, Willis, and three children, Karl, Keith, and Kristi (Alexander). Her eldest son, Kenneth preceded her in death. She also leaves behind two granddaughters, Angela and Kamaya; two great-grandsons, Malik and Tylik; One great-great-granddaughter, Serenity; A host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She loved and adored her family, and the feeling was mutual. She will truly be missed.
