The funeral service for Glyn E. Weaver of Lufkin will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at First Missionary Baptist Church, 410 Scarborough St, Lufkin at 11:00 A.M. The burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Nacogdoches, TX.
Mr. Glyn Edward Weaver, was born on August 12, 1948, in Nacogdoches, Texas, and passed away on Monday November 1 1, 2024 in Livingston, Texas.
Glyn Edward Weaver was born to the parentage ofMr. Smith and Mrs. Emeline (Johnson) Weaver. He was baptized at Iron Wheel Baptist Church at an early age. Glyn graduated from E. J. Campbell
High School, Nacogdoches, Texas, where he played football and excelled academically. After high School, Glyn moved to Los Angeles, California , where he worked in a management role for a prominent Retail Drug Store Chain. During that time he met Odia Neomi Johnson. Glyn and Odia shared 20 years of marriage. They were married on March 9, 1968. In 1971, a son Keith Weaver was born. Glyn loved entrepreneurship and had a lifelong passion for cars, and eventually opened a Auto Body Shop. Upon moving to Lufkin, Texas, he established Weaver Care Care, a car detailing shop that won several local awards over the years for being "Best of Lufkin." A man of style and flair, Glyn was known as a very fashionable dresser. He especially loved shopping at Alandale's, a boutique men's shop in Hollywood, California. Glyn's family was very important to him, and he loved his son's dearly. He was a very strong advocate for helping others, especially young people, mentoring and guiding them toward success in life. He spoke his mind, but was willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.
