Memorial service for Helen Sowell. 73, of Lufkin will be held at 2PM, Friday, June 20, 2025, in the Colonial Mortuary Chapel. Helen Williams-Sowell was born on May 28,1951 in Illinios, in Peoria Illinios, to the late James Williams and Dorothy Williams- Specks. Helen passed awayon Friday, May 23,2025 in Lufkin at the age of 73. Helen was the youngest of three children. Helen attended Lufkin Public School and graduated from Dunbar High School. Helen later attended Angelina College and received her Certificate in Drug Counseling. Helen loved cooking, watching movies, playing bingo, and visiting with her friends. Helen was preceded in death by her mother Dorothy Williams-Specks, her father John T. Specks,sister Carylon Williams- Espinoza, Laverne Williams- Stegall, her son Billy Dewayne Williams, nephew Jerry Williams, Loring R. Cooper II, niece Alicia Cooper.
Left tocherish her memories is her nephew Kelvin D. Walker ( Kameshia), Eddie Lee Williams, Charles Edward Preston Jr, niece Crystal Preston- Brown, Shata Specks, Eraina Cooper, Adrienna Cooper, great nephews Christian Mumphery, Joshua Walker, Jeremiah Walker, Quincy Richards, Lawrence Capenter,great niece Shavoca Jordan, Shannon Williams, god-daughter Shirhonda Ervin, her best friend Estelle Toliver and a host of additional family and friends who will miss her dearly.
Cremation service are in the directions of Colonial Mortuary.
