Funeral service for Hershel McKail Criswell, 62 of Lufkin will be held at 11 AM.,Saturday, October 25, 2025, ia the Colonial Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery in Moscow, TX.
Hershel McKaiI Criswell, was born on March 16, 1963, in Lufkin, Texas, to the parentage of the late Dorothy and Donald Criswell in Moscow, Texas.
Hershel attended the Lufkin Independent School District, and graduated from Lufkin High School with the Class of 1982. He was a member of the Church By Christ Jesus, 100 S. Beech Street in Diboll, Texas, under the leadership of Pastor Charles Phipps Jr., where he was baptized and loved singing, praying and praising God.
He had been employed by Woodland Heights Hospital, Dixon Furniture Company, and also the Animal Hospital. Hershel loved animals and his pet's name were: Cooper and Danger.
On October 9, 2025, Hershel McKail Criswell departed this earthly life in Lufkin, Texas.
Hershel was preceded in death by: His parents, Dorothy and Donald Criswell; A brother, Donald Criswell, Jr.
Left to Cherish His Memories: His wife, Phyllis Hunt-Criswell; A son, Demarcus Ford, Grandchildren: Shayden Ford, Lundyn Ford, Seveyn Ford, Laziyah Hunt and Major Craven. Sisters, Nina Guidry (Joe), Nancy Callaway (Earl), Gayfer Jeffery (Wayne) and Edna Criswell; A brother, David Criswell (Annette); Numerous nieces, great-nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and other extended family members.
