Iva J. Brown's Obituary
Services for Iva J. Brown, 75, of Huntington will be held Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the Huntington Baptist Church, 702 N. Main St., Huntington, TX. Burial will follow in the Huntington Community Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 till 7:00 p.m. at Colonial Mortuary.Mrs. Iva Joyce Brown, was born December 1, 1946 in Huntington, Texas, to the late Willie Mae and David Brown.
She grew up in Huntington, Texas where she attended the Huntington Public Schools, later attending Dunbar High School in Lufkin, Texas. She was affectionately called Lump-Lump by her family though they had many nick names for her. Mrs. Brown accepted Christ as her Lord an Savior and was a member of the Pilgrim Home Baptist Church, later becoming a member of the True Light Holiness Church under the leadership of Pastor Clevon Harper.
She enjoyed cooking and was an avid cook pies being her specialty. She also loved to sing and was a member of the Pilgrim Home Baptist Church Choir. Her livelihood also included spending quality time with her family especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. During her life time she had been employed by Pilgrim Pride Poultry in Lufkin, Texas and as a cook in a local Restaurant. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Her children, Darwin Brown, Michael Morris, Veronica Morris, Jennifer (Tommy) Hagen, Bobbie Brown; Her Sisters/brothers, Elaine Rhodes, Evon Brown, Hiawatha Brown, Billy Ray (Mona) Brown, Charles Lee (Betty) Procter, Robert Earl (Joan) Procter; Aunt, Ruth Price. A wealth of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Many cousins and other extended family. The Family Matriarch, Mrs. Eva Mae Reed.
She is preceded in death by: Her Parents, Willie Mae Brown and David Brown; Her grandparents; Four brothers, James Earl Brown, Eddie Ray Brown, Sylvester and Mack Brown; Sister-in-law, Louise Brown; Sister, Debra Brown; Aunt, Punkin; Great-great-granddaughter, Zariah and uncle, Jim Price.
