Jack James DeWald, Jr. "Johnny" of Zavalla, TX., 64, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2014.
Beloved son of Frankie Drake Jennings and the late Red Jennings and Jack Dewald Sr.; beloved father of Heidi DeWald, J.P. DeWald, Edward Dewald, Victor DeWald and Gary DeWald; Grandfather of Jordan, Emily, Julianna, Sophia, Kennedy and Ella DeWald; brother of Deborah Bridge, Ginger Stephens, Mary Dorsey, Erwin Dewald, Susan Allen and Sherwood Mote; Beloved nephew of Victor Drake and Bettye Erwin. He was also loved by his many Cousins, nieces, nephews and friends and will be greatly missed by all.
Johnny spent most of his life working in the gas and oil industry, where he was respected and later in the A/C & Heating business - but he would have much preferred to be on the fishing for bass,
which brought him to Zavalla in 2005, where he befriended and helped so many people. He held deep profound relationships, loving each as an individual. Johnny was a patriotic, gentle, loving. kind and giving man. He was a mentor to many and a patient teacher.
A Memorial service officiated by Pastor Joel Hitchock will be held Sunday, September 29, 2014 at
2:00 p.m. at the Cassells - Boykin State Park (Dr. Bill and Emily Shelton Pavillion) located on Lake Sam Rayburn in Zavalla, TX. Family and friends are invited to gather for a buffet at Carleen's Café in Zavalla following the services.
