Services for Jack Benny Ligon Jr., 72, od Diboll will be held Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Shiloh Baptist Church, 100 Pine St., Diboll, TX. Burial will follow in the Forest Haven Cemetery in Diboll. Mr. Ligon was born May 12, 1946 in Diboll and died May 8, 2019 in Diboll.
Jack B. Ligon served in the United States Army from 1968 — 1972. His specialty title while serving in the U.S Army was a 36-C20 Lineman. He also served in the Vietnam War. Continuing title consist of Corporal E-4 rank, as well as a military paratrooper, functioning as part of an airborne force.
On May 12, 1946 In Texas Jack and Edna Kirksey-Ligon were blessed with a handsome baby boy whom they named Jack Benny Ligon. He was the fourth child born to this matrimony. He had a loving home. Jack benny graduated from H.G. Temple High School, in Diboll, Texas. As a young boy he united with Perry Chapel C.M.E Church. Later after graduation, he was employed with Temple Industry. Months later, in 1968, Jack enlisted in the United States Army where he served two tours and then returned home from the Vietnam War in 1972. He married, had three children & went to work in Houston TX at Houston Lighting & Power for 30 years as an electrical journeyman. He then moved on to become a truck driver and later retired from the Port of Houston. He then married his loving wife, Seneatha Ligon.
He is preceded in death by his parents Jack and Edna Ligon, son Stephen, grandson Davian R. Songs, two brothers Charles & Bernard Ligon, two sisters LaWanda Allen and Addie Bea Davis.
Jack leaves to cherish his lovely wife Seneatha Ligon Daughters Atavia Oliphant Ligon, Jacqueline Bernadette Ligon, Rozita Marquet'Ligon and earthly daughter Ebony Madison, all of Houston Texas. Earthly son, Everett Oliphant of Woodville TX. Grandchildren Bianca Dennis, Kershundralyn
Dennis Williams & Eric Babers. Great Grandchildren Kaden Ro'Quis Babers and Keric Marqueis Babers. Great-great-grandson Boris O. Wilson. One brother James E. Ligon and sister in-law Helen Ligon, a nephew as son Jimmy Allen, one aunt Dimple Marie Batiste and one uncle Lafayette Kirksey
and a host of other relatives and friends.
