Funeral services for JaCoyius Deckard, 36, of Lufkin will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Our Father's House of Faith located on 518 S. 3rd St. Lufkin, TX 75901. Burial will follow in the Davis Memorial Garden. Tuesday, visitation will be from 5 p.m to 7 p.m. Mr. Deckard was born on December 21, 1984, in Lufkin and, died on Friday, June 11, 2021, in Houston.
JaCoyius Ray Deckard, was born on December 21, 1984, in Lufkin, Texas to the parentage of Bridgett Deckard-Ross and Douglas Richards.
Ja'Coyius attended Lufkin High School and was a student in the Class of
2003. Ja'Coyius was an avid sports lover and participated in City League Basketball and Football. He loved many sports, but he loved basketball the most. He was known in town for his jokes and his huge smile. He resided in Lufkin until he relocated to Humble, Texas, in April of 2018. Ja'Coyius worked various jobs while in the Houston area. He loved music, fashion, cooking and spending time with his family. It was not unusual to find Ja'Coyius in the kitchen cooking his specialty, fried fish and chicken.
Ja'Coyius was very family oriented and spoke to his family daily. It was not uncommon for him to video call his loved ones several times a day. His love for family and cooking brought the family together often. Ja'Coyius spent the majority of his time in the kitchen cooking for his loved ones. He loved to make people laugh, never met a stranger and had a loving and kind heart. Ja'Coyius will be greatly missed by all.
On June I l, 2021, the Heavenly Gates opened, and the Angels rejoiced as Ja'Coyius Ray Deckard entered.
