Jacquelyn Jones' Obituary
Services for Jacquelyn Jones, 52, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the
Colonial Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow in the Davis Memorial Garden. Visitation is Friday from 5:00 till 7:00 p.m. at Colonial Mortuary.
Mrs. Jones was was born on August 21, 1970, in St. Joseph Michigan, and died on Monday, January 9, 2023, in Lufkin. Ms. Jacquelyn Bernell Jones, the fifth of six children (two girls and four boys), was born to the late Warnell and Eula Jones in St. Joseph, Michigan.
Jacquelyn accepted Christ early in life, and began attending a Baptist Church as a child with her parents and siblings. She attended Elementary School in Michigan, but ultimately moved to Lufkin with her parents, and graduated from Lufkin High School. After high school, she attended courses at Angelina College to study nursing. Jacquelyn worked at Pine Crest Nursing Home as a CNA for many years. After further exploring her faith, she began to attend the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah 's Witnesses. Hobbies and interest ofJacquelyn included playing dominoes, watching movies, and caring for animals. She had a very profound love for her grandchildren and cherished every second with them.
Jacquelyn departed this life on Monday January 9, 2023 in Lufkin, Texas at the age of 52.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Warnell and Eula Jones; Grandparents, Warren and Rhoda Barnes, Mamie Jones and Warnell Jones Sr.; Three aunts and seven uncles.
She leaves to cherish her memories: One daughter, Mercedez Mallard (Darreon) and one son, Terrence Johnson; Grandchildren, Kingston Johnson and Aubrey Mallard; Five siblings, Ray Barnes (Lorene), Jerome Barnes, Reginald Jones, Jeannette Pool (Kenneth), and Geoffrey Jones; One aunt, Ozie Smith; And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Her dog, Pinto.
