Funeral services for James Oscar Benton,are scheduled for Saturday November 9,2019 at 11:00 a.m.,Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Germany Community.Interment will follow in the Germany Community Cemetery. Mr. Benton died on November 2, 2019 in Kennard, TX.
James Oscar Bennett, was born on June 2, 1933 in Houston County, Texas to the late Oscar and Evola Benton.
On October 9, 1956 James married Bertha Marcile Lamb. To this union seven children were born:
James Kenneth Benton (Marie) of Kennard, Texas, Carolyn Charlton (Desmond) of Lufkin, Texas, Shelia Benton of Lufkin, Texas, Wanda Sanders, (Ronald) of Crockett, Texas, Robert Benton (Bernice) of Irving, Texas, Mellissia Gordon (Jason) of Alto, Texas and Melody Benton of
Kennard, Texas. He also has another son, Mickey Johnson (Rhonda) of Fort Worth, Texas; Twenty four grandchildren; Twenty seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
