Graveside services for MGgt. James E. Cox , 79, will be held at 12:30 Saturday, November 12 ,2022 in the Davis Memorial Garden. Visitation will be from 9:00 till 12:00 noon at Colonial Mortuary.
MSgt. James E. Cox, 79, of Pine Bluff passed away peacefully on November 3rd, 2022, surrounded by his family.
James was born January 29, 1943 in Lufkin, TX to parents Zeno Cox Sr. and Ella Cox. James met his wife Yverne in Lufkin, they fell in love and married in 1961. James spent 22 years in the Air Force proudly serving his country. After his retirement from the Air Force he continued to make an impact as a teacher at ROTC in Pine Bluff. He also was passionate about tennis and spent many years as the President of Bloom Tennis' Weekend Warriors tennis Circuit.
James created a beautiful family with Yveme, together they had 3 children. James]oved spending time with his family, taking trips, playing dominoes and watching sports.
James was predeceased by his father Zeno Sr., mother Ella and son Byron. He is survived by his wife Yveme, Children: James Jr. and Darcus Ann, Brothers: Zeno and Ray. He also leaves behind 3 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, many loved ones and friends. James will be dearly missed and always remembered.
