James McGee's Obituary
Services for James McGee,69, formerly of Lufkin will be held Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Missionary Baptist Church, 410 Scarbrough, Lufkin, TX. Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. till time of services at the church.
James L McGee, was born on July 4 ,1949, to parents James McGee and Ola Riley McGee in Lufkin Texas.
At an early age he accepted his faith in Jesus Christ and joined First Missionary Baptist Church. He attended public schools in Lufkin and graduated with honors from Dunbar High School in 1967. With his love for football he received a scholarship to Tennessee State University. Later he transferred to Texas Southern University in Houston Texas receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration graduating Magna Cum Laude.
While living in Lufkin he was employed at Texas Foundry and later worked for and retired from Shell Oil Company in Alexandria/Pineville, La.
On October 2, 1976 James was united in holy matrimony to Marcia Elaine King-McGee of Diboll, Texas. This union was blessed with 42 years of marriage until his death.
James preceded in death by his father, James McGee in 1984, his sister Marjorie McGee-Mitchell, 1996 (Jim, deceased) and his mother Ola McGee, 2018.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife Marcia Elaine McGee of Pineville La, his sister Patsy McGee-Brown (Ervin, deceased) and brother Jerry McGee (Dewan), Houston, Tx
His niece Chandra Brown-Ledet (Shawn), Krenesha King and Krista Gardner (Chris) and nephews Dartagnan and Jeremy (Jeanette)McGee, Houston Tx and
Damian (Tawanna), Davin (Chante’) Mitchell, Atlanta Ga. With a host of great nieces and nephews.
