The heart that Jamie received in surgery years ago, held true to the doctors word, and lasted for twenty years. On August 30, 2022, that heart beat it's last beat, and Jamie spiritually departed from his body at Woodland Heights Hospital in Lufkin, Texas. For we know God's word says: "to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." 2 Corinthians 5:8
Jamie was birthed into this world on September 28, 1941 in San Augustine, Texas, to Arnette (Jones) Dodd and Charlie Stansberry. He was the eldest of three sons. He departed as a widower having recently lost his wife, Roberta Stansberry on August 12, 2022. They were married for fifty nine years. After employment with Lufkin Paper Mill, Jamie became self employed by Bush Hauling and mowing lots for the City of Lufkin. He especially mowed and maintained his own yard to perfection, winning Lufkin's title of Most Beautiful Yard. He believed in rising early and staying busy. He was a true Outdoors-man and loved his farm, horses, gardening, Heavy Duty Trucks, Trail Rides, fish fries, barbeques and family reunions. He had a true entrepreneurial heart and spirit...always looking for a way to make money. Above all, he was a very 'faithful," devoted and contributing member of First Missionary Baptist Church.
