Jarvis " Jarbo " Sheppard's Obituary
Service for Jarvis Sheppard,56 of Alto, will be held at follow in the 2 p.m., Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Simpson Chapel in Kennard. Burial will follow in the McKelvey Cemetery.
Mr. Sheppard was born on June 3, 1966, in Crockett, and died on Monday, April 10,2023, in Wells. Jarvis "Jarbo" Sheppard was born on June 3, 1966, to Avery Faye Sheppard and Dan Ligon. He was the eldest of four siblings.
He accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Bethel CME Church in the Tabor Community. He attended Kennard High School with the Class of 1984. He later followed in this father's footsteps and became an East Texas Logger, until his health failed him. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also enjoyed playing dominoes and spending time with his family and friends.
On April 11, 2023, Jarvis "Jabor" Sheppard departed this life in Wells, Texas.
Left to cherish his memories: Father and stepmother, Dan and Joyce Ligon: Sons, Orlando Hamilton, Brad Bass, Robert Spencer; Daughter, Tish Hamilton; Brother, Dan Ligon, Jr. (Lyndsey); Sister, Aisha Warfield (Kendrick); Aunts, Pauline Nugent, Lula Neveu, Karen Randle, Barbara Jo Burton; Uncles, David Sheppard, Gerald Ligon, Ray Boston, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other loved ones.
