Jason Horace's Obituary
Service for Jason Horace, 47 of Lufkin is scheduled for 11 a.m., December 31, 2022, at Timber Creek Church, at 2021 S. John Redditt Dr, Lufkin. Burial will follow in the Davis Memorial Garden.
Jason E. Horace, Sr. was born September 2, 1975, in Houston, TX to Emmitt Horace and the late Bemadette Horace.
Jason grew up in Groveton, TX and later moved to Lufkin, TX. He graduated from Lufkin High School and attended Texas Barber College.
He grew up in church and taught himself to play the bass guitar. He played for over 30 years for several ministries in the East Texas area. He was one of the most prestigious bass players this side of heaven. He was faithful and devoted for over 20 years to the leadership of Bishop Cedric D. Kenebrew where he was an active member of the Dimensions of Grace Church.
Jason met his beautiful wife, Gracia, in 2001 and proposed to marry her in 2002. From this union India and Jason, Jr was born.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of twenty years, Gracia Horace, along with his children, daughters Ma' KayIa Horace and India Horace; son Jason Horace, Jr. all of Lufkin, 1 X, brothers Heath (Pam) Horace New Caney, TX; Enc (Bnza) Horace San Antonio, TX; Nicholas Horace Saratoga Springs, NY; Teryiance (Alyson) Horace; sisters Meredith (Paul) Schilling Albany, NY; Veronica (Fred) Richards; Brandi (Stefan) Baker, Demetrius (James) Matthews; Christa (Derrick, Sr,) Belton all of Houston, TX, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins. and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother Bernadette Horace, grandmothers Fredricka Graham, Leona
Horace, and Evelyn Lewis-Horace, grandfathers AC Horace, Sr. and Willie Graham, and brother Bryant Horace.
