Jean E. Davis' Obituary
Jean Elouise ( Williams) Davis was born January 9, 1941 to Ivory Williams and Roser Mae Williams. She was the second born of eight children. Jean Davis fell asleep in death at home August 5, 2014 surrounded by her family.
In 2004 Jean retired from Goldwater Memorial Hospital. Roosevelt Island, N. Y. after working there for many years. At age 20, Jean was introduced to Jehovah's Witnesses. This became her life for the next 53 years. For 47 years, she engaged in a full time ministry work where she shared her beliefs with others. (Rev.21:4)
Jean adored her granddaughters, Lauryn and Kaitlyn. She loved to travel the world and had the opportunity to visit many beautiful places. She was known for showing hospitality to so many. She lived her life to the fullest . She will be truly missed.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories, one daughter, Gail McClelland (Dwayne) of Lufkin, TX.
One son, Robert Nathan Davis of Lufkin, TX. Four siblings, Patricia Woodford (Gordon) of St. Louis, MO., Lindsey Williams (Gwendolyn) of Aiken, SC., Brenda Adams (Larry) of New Ellenton, SC., Thelma Patton of Gastonia, NC. two granddaughters, Lauryn and Kaitlyn McClelland of Lufkin, TX. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her
parents, Ivory and Roser Williams, brothers, Ivory Williams, James Williams and Mark Williams.
Special thanks to Hospice of the Pines, Dr. Jansen Todd, all of his nurses and professional staff. and Dr. Marco Benitez. Our hearts also hold a special place for Speech Therapist Joi Harn and countless others who have supported us throughout this journey. The family will receive friends from 6 -8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Colonial Mortuary, 1600 Sayers St., Lufkin, TX. 75904. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday August 13, 2014 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, 2500 N. Raguet, Lufkin, TX. 75904
