Jeff Elbert Jackson Jr.'s Obituary
Graveside services for Jeff Jackson, 76, of Diboll will be held Saturday in the Diboll Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.. Mr. Jackson was born August 7, 1944 in Seven Oaks, TX. and died March 22, 2021 in Houston, TX.
My name is Jeff Jackson, Jr. I was born August 7, 1944 to Letha Nolen Jackson and Jeff Jackson, Sr. of Seven Oaks, Texas. I attended H.G. Temple High School. After I finished High School, I signed up to serve in the military, U.S. Army. I am a Vietnam Veteran. Over the years, I worked in various capacities for several companies. I was referred to as being a "Jack of all trades."
One day back in 1976, I saw a beautiful young lady washing her car across the street at the Diboll Housing Authority. Back then, I was told that you go over there and use their water hose and water for free. That is where I met the love of my life my wife, Mrs. Pat Jackson. We were married in 1980. We celebrated our life together with three beautiful children as you will read further down in this obituary. Pat and I had a very good and prosperous life together. We went through trials and anxieties that life can bring, but we never stopped loving each other and Pat always treated me with dignity and respect.
I leave to cherish my memories: My beautiful wife, Pat and children, Paula Owens (Steve), Treena Wright (Dexter, Sr.) and Jeff Jackson Ill; My sisters in Diboll, Texas are: Mable Johnson, Evelyn Joyce Spencer, Velma Levine and Angeletha Jackson, a sister Carrie Anderson of Albian, Michigan, a sister, Betty Joe Jackson of Las Vegas and a sister in-law, Betty Jackson of Lufkin, Texas. Also cherishing my memories are our beautiful grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews and lots of friends.
On this journey called life, maybe we shared meals together, laughed together, cried together, talked about things, or may in passing we shared a quick smile, a wave. Maybe we played a game or two of dominoes where I let my opponent win. I loved that. I loved people and I thank Jehovah right now as I write this, for every moment he allowed me to share my life with you and thank you for sharing your life with me. Do not be overly sad because of my passing. I am blessed because I did not suffer long. Now I am going to sleep. Ecclesiastes Chapter 9 verse 5 says: "the living are conscious that they will die but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all." I am going to get some much needed rest as I await the fulfillment of Acts 24:15. You must go on with your lives, life goes on you know. Until we see each other again, I say: "In paradise we shall meet.
Those who have preceded me in death are as follows: My mother, Letha Nolen Jackson; My father, Jeff Jackson, Sr.; Sister, Erma Jackson Smith; brother, John H. Jackson; Daughter-in-law, Shelia Jackson, nephew, Alton Earl Jackson; Grandson, Dexter LyDell Wright, Jr.
