Jermaine attended Diboll High School in Diboll, Texas and he also attended Hillcrest High School in Memphis, Tennessee. While living in Memphis, Jermaine became a very skillful Cement Mason. In his later years after returning back to his hometown, he became employed at Pilgrims' Pride Industries.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Wade Oliphant Sr.; Grandmother, Evie Lou Oliphant; Aunt, Doris Oliphant and a cousin, Stephanie Bell.
