Services for John Moore, 65, of Lufkin will be held Friday, November 30, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Simpson Chapel Baptist Church, FM 227, Ratcliff, TX. Burial will follow in the Davis Memorial Gardens, Lufkin. Visitation is Thursda Read Obituary
In these past couple of months, I had th pleasure of caring for Mr. Moore. Although he was not one of my patients the first weeks he was on my unit, I noticed Mr. Moore due to the fact that he always had his door open and he loved to wave hello and smile to each person that passed by. Mr. Moore loved to laugh and we often cracked jokes together. On the night of the big lottery drawing I asked Mr. Moore if he was a lucky man at which he replied “Oh yes, I am definitely a lucky man!” I then asked him to pick a number between 0-70 for me to put on my lottery ticket. I’ll be darned that the only number I got right on that lottery ticket was number 70 that Mr. Moore picked out for me. I came back the next day and said “Mr. Moore! Your number was the only single number I got right in that lottery drawing - I should’ve let you pick all of my numbers!” Mr. Moore was kind and gentle and even though he was so ready to go home, he was always positive and never once did he complain. Even after we transferred him to another unit, some of us would go to visit him each day just to say hi and see how he was doing . I am so so deeply saddened with the hearing of his passing as Mr. Moore was easily one of my favorite patients. I will think of Mr. Moore and our time together often and I find peace in knowing he is in better place. I will forever cherish our memories together. Rest In Peace Mr. Moore. We will deeply miss you and your smiling face. ❤️
John always had that BIG BEAUTIFUL SMILE! He always had kind words never complaining. Rest well my Classmate!
