Johnny Conner's Obituary
Memorial service for Johnny Conner, 70, formerly of Lufkin will be held Saturday, May 8, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. in the Lacy Cemetery in Lacy, TX.
Johnny Conner was born October 20, 1950, in Lufkin, Tx to Jimmie and Ozella Connor, who preceded him in death. Johnny attended Mission High School and the Reserved Officers Training Corps in San Francisco, California. He obtained a diploma in Business Administration at HEALD College in San Franciso.
Johnny worked over 33 years in the Culinary industry as a chef at the Las Vegas Hilton/ Westgate Hotel in Las Vegas, NV. He was a member of the Culinary Workers Union Local 226 & Teamster Local 631. Johnny officially retired in December 2020.
He was an honorable and spiritual man who believed in the higher power of God. Johnny joined Victory Missionary Baptist Church in Las Vegas, NV in 2004 and was later baptized in 2006 under the leadership of Pastor Robert E. Fowler, Sr.
Johnny's love in life was family and friends. He enjoyed entertaining, cooking, and traveling. Johnny had a remarkable sense of humor and loved making people laugh. He also was a big San Franciso 49'ers fan Johnny brought love, joy, and hope to anyone whose life he touched. His spirit was beautiful inside and out; he smiled and his infectious personality will be missed by all.
Johnny was the oldest of the seven children, one brother who preceded him in death, Jimmy. He leaves to cherish his memory two brothers, Eugene & Larry Conner (Shirley); three sisters, Felicia Lloyd, Janice, and Shalonda Connor; sister-in-law, Vanessa Connor; several aunts, uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, others family, and friends.
