Joseph Venard Lewis' Obituary
Memorial service for Joseph Lewis, 67 of Lufkin will be held on Sunday, February 18,2024, at 11 a.m., in the Colonial Mortuary Chapel. Mr. Lewis was born on November 10,1956, in Lufkin and died on Saturday, February 10, 2024, in Lufkin. Cremation is under the direction of Colonial Mortuary.
On November 10, 1958, a son named Joseph Vernard Lewis was born to the union of Lois Jean and
Sidney Odis Lewis Jr, in Lufkin, Texas. He was raised by his grandmother, Alberta Fransaw in Corrigan,
Texas. Joseph attended and graduated from Corrigan-Camden High School. He joined Pine Hill
Missionary Baptist Church in 2015, where he remained a member until death. Joe was a very kind, and loving spirit. He never met a stranger, he loved people, family gatherings, cooking, traveling and hanging out with his sisters and having a good time. Joe will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lois Jean, Sidney Lewis, Brother's, Jerell Lewis, and Michael
Lewis, Stepsister's, Gwendolyn Guidry, and Betty Evans. He leaves to cherish his memories, one son, Vernard Lewis of Dallas, Texas and three grandchildren, Brother's George Lewis, and Odis Lewis, Stepbrother's David Guidry and Roy Guidry, Sister's Cathy Menifee, and Pamela Girdy, one stepsister, Joyce Guidry, Aunt's Patricia Brooks (Roy), Connie Fransaw, A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
