Josie Kirkwood's Obituary
Funeral service for Josie Kirkwood, 90 of Wells will be held Saturday, February 17, 202 at 11:00 a.m. in the Colonial Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow in the Sweet Union Cemetery.
Josie, was born on May 28, 1933 at the Bothwell Farm in the Sweet Union Community, to the late Frank and Flossie Jones.
She attended School and Church in the Sweet Union Community. Josie worked as a housekeeper in the Forrest and Wells Community for many years, until she met and married Louie Kirkwood. Josie enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, cooking, and baking her most famous chocolate cakes, that you would often find sitting on the table when you entered her home.
On February 7, 2024, Josie departed this life at her residence surrounded by her children.
She is preceded in death by: her parents, Frank and Flossie Jones; Spouse, Louie Kirkwood; Twin sister, "Rosie Lee," Maudis, Dixie, and Lassie; Brothers, Cecil, Vernon, Wilbert, Nelson, George and Franklin (FD).

Daughters, Emma (Curtis) Sparks and Barbara Martin; Sons, Bobby, Nathaniel, Jimmy and Eddie; Special friend, Don Reid; Thirteen grandchildren, Twenty one great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; A special grandson, Jeremy Edwards that she raised as her own son.
