Private Graveside Service for Larry Williams,71, of Lufkin, will be held Thursday, April 9, 2020, at 1 p.m, in the New Center Prospect Cemetery under the Colonial Mortuary director. Mr.Williams was born on February 7, 1949, Pollok Texas and died April 3, 2020, in Lufkin Texas.
Larry was born on February 7, 1949, to Queen Easter Williams in Pollok, Texas. He attended Lufkin Public Schools and was a graduate of Dunbar High School, Class of 1967.
Larry was employed with and retired from the Pacific Railroad. He enjoyed life, family, and friend to the utmost and greeted everyone he met and knew with a smile and a word of encouragement. Larry loved children; he was the Life Guard during the summer at Jones Park, Lufkin, Texas and he was the driver during football season for the community to and from the Lufkin Panthers Football Games. He truly enjoyed it all and will be truly missed.
On Friday, April 3, 2020; Larry answered his call from the Lord in Lufkin, Texas. He was preceded in death by his mother; Queen Easter Williams and brother; Leon Houston Byrd, Sr.
Left in God's care to cherish his memories are family and friends, Dr. Vaneia Williams, Joyce Simmons, Hermon Fefe there are not enough words to express for the care of Larry during his final days, Vertie Byrd, Vanetta Byrd, Eric Byrd, Leon Byrd Jr., Kevin Hughes, Host family, and Friends.
