Leamon Ligon's Obituary
Services for Leamon Ligon, 88, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Shiloh Baptist Church, 100 Pine St., Diboll, TX.
Burial will follow in the Nigton Cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 6:00 till 8:00 at the Church of the Living God PGT, 1002 Cypress, Diboll, TX.
Mr.Ligon was born on October 2, 1931 in Nigton, TX. and died on April 27, 2019 in Houston, TX.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Ligon and Mary Scott Ligon.
Leamon was a graduate of H.G. Temple High School in Diboll, Texas and furthered his education at Alabama Medical School, Baylor School of Medicine and Aviation School. On November 19, 1992, Leamon married Emma (Pat) Ligon. His life's Highlights included: His service in the United States Air Force for twenty three and one half years as a Medic, P.A. for Wilford Hall Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. He also was a Veterans Service Officer for Angelina County, Disabled Veteran State Officer of the year 2008-2009 and member of Veterans County Service Officers Association of Texas.
Left to cherish his memories: His wife, Emma (Pat) Ligon; Three sons, Leamon Ligon Jr. of Gainesville, Texas, David Ligon of Denver Colorado, Shawn Ligon of San Antonio, Texas;
Three daughters, Elnora Ligon, Yvonne Ligon and Aretha Hill (Richard) all of San Antonio, Texas; Thirteen grandchildren; Five great-grandchildren; Three stepchildren, Debra Edwards of Fontana, California, Constance Garcia of Barstow, California and Claude Garcia of Lufkin, Texas; A host of other relatives and friends. Special little ones: Skylar and Raven Broadway; Coffee buddies, Willie Rogers, Billie Beck, Wayne Thompson and Tim Kubeczka; Special nephews, Gerlad Ligon, Jr, Rory Crain, Ronald Crain and Roy Crain; Special adoptive children:Kernnie Harris, Linda Arant, Valencia Kennedy, Marilyn Davis, Sumaria LaShelle Alexander, Earl Hudson and Shacoria (Little Bit).
